YFAW 2018 in Newcastle

In 2018 Young Functional Analysts' Workshop took place at Newcastle University between 21st and 23rd March 2018.

The invited speakers for YFAW 2018 were:

Professor Robert Archbold - University of Aberdeen

Title of the talk: "The Dixmier property and tracial states for C*-algebras"

Professor Eva A. Gallardo-Gutierrez - Complutense University of Madrid, Spain

Title of the talk: "The invariant subspace problem: general operator theory vs concrete operator theory?"

Dr David Kimsey - Newcastle University

Title of the talk: "On a minimal solution of the indefinite truncated multidimensional moment problem"

Professor Alexander Pushnitski - King's College London

Title of the talk: "Spectral theory of Toeplitz and Hankel operators"

We encouraged all participants to give a 20-minute talk or present a poster. We, also, encouraged female PhD students to present their research in the form of a contributed talk or a poster. We were committed to providing help with the organization of any particular arrangements regarding those participants with specific requests, for example participants having a disability or participants with children, such as arranging accommodation for them and their dependants within close proximity to the university.
