Outreach

Outreach as part of a large project

As part of the MesoAmerican Subduction Experiment, we also conducted an outreach program. The program consisted on two elements, one was preparing bachelor's students in Geophysical Engineering and the other one on outreach the communities that hosted the temporary seismic stations from the project. The outreach program structure and scope can be consulted in:

A poster was delivered to each site

This poster was delivered to every site that hosted a temporary seismic station for the MASE and VEOX projects.

Soccer and seismology

I'm not a soccer fan, but I'm a signal processing fan and my heart is with the soccer team from UNAM, Pumas. This exercise started by other colleagues when they first noticed that the games from Pumas, played at the home stadium in CU, were producing enough energy to be detected by a station in the same campus. I've continued to explore these signals for fun and to introduce students to signal processing and seismology.
