Wade Hampton Hannah, Jr. died in his residence suddenly early Friday morning September 25. He was 59. Wade was born in Charleston, South Carolina, but has lived in this area for over 30 years. He was recently a student of nuclear medicine, and had a background of repairing nuclear facilities. He was a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy for 11 years. While in the Navy, he served as a medical corpsman on the frontline. He was a long-term member of the Society for Anachronism where he was known as the "Baron of the Cement Pond." He also was a wonderful foster father for many children, especially those with medical needs.

Wade is survived by his loving wife, Mame Wood; his adoring daughter Ever Wood-Hannah; his mother Meg McIntosh; eight brothers and sisters; and many other friends and family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Wade on Thursday, Oct. 1 at the Milam Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place with military honors at Florida National Cemetery at 2:00 PM. It is requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the family made out to "Mary Wood", or to the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc made out to "SCA - Kingdom of Trimaris" either of which can be sent to Ever Wood-Hannah at 2620 NW 47th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32605, or to the American Red Cross: Service to the Armed Forces (www.redcross.org).

The Celebration of Life for Alexander Gallowglass (mka Wade Hannah) will be on Thursday at 10 AM at

Milam's Funeral Home in Gainesville. The address is 311 S Main St., Gainesville, FL 32601. The internment will be at 2 PM in Bushnell at the Florida National Cemetery. The address of the cemetery is 6502 SW 102nd Avenue Bushnell, FL 33513. Dress as you will. Mundanes, garb, work uniforms, or jeans and a T-shirt. There will also be Celebrations of Life of some sort at both Michaelmas (Oct 23-25) and Martinmas Moot (Nov 13-15).
