Lord Alastair was the long time Keel Herald of Trimaris and will be greatly missed.
It is with sad heart that I must share the passing of Alastair Aylweard (mka Shane Blancett )
He joined the SCA in the early 1980's in Kingdom of Ansteorra, helped with the beginnings of the incipient shire of Bonwicke, moved to the Principality of Drachenwald in 1985, started the Shire of Hold of Lions Heart, now known as Flint Heath, he then moved to the Kingdom of Trimaris in the late 80’s for a short time, then moved back to The Kingdom of Ansteorra, Barony of Bjornsborg where he spent many hours doing Heraldry, Bardic, Fighting, and Marshalling, in the early 90’s he moved back to the Kingdom of Trimaris where again he spent many hours doing Heraldry. In the last several years he was unable to attend due to health.
He was my protégé’, friend, and mentor. He was a squire to Syr Raim y Hynnddyl at one time as well. He will be missed.
