Waxcap grassland project - free workshop

The waxcap fungi project is heavily dependent on the assistance of volunteer collectors, who are the people at the sharp end of survey and monitoring. To give people confidence to identify and submit records and specimens of these important species in Scotland, the project will run a free two day workshop at Mar Lodge, Braemar on the 24/25th September this year. The workshop will have the following purposes:

• disseminate the project results so far

• introduce the fungi to non-specialist participants

• provide guidance on particular identification problems

• receive feedback on species of particular conservation concern.
