Byssonectria fusispora - a colourful little cup fungus

Post date: Apr 9, 2014 9:59:24 PM

This month's fungus, Byssonectria fusispora, may only reach 3-5 mm across, but it's bright yellow colour means it stands out a mile - well, at least from 5 to 6 ft. up! Look at the full FOM profile for more details.

As usual, please keep an eye out for this fungus and then either let us know you've found it or submit the record to your local fungus group. Also, remember that the ever growing list of 'Fungus of the Month' profiles is available here, ordered alphabetically or by its highlight month (for example, Gyromitra esculenta (False morel) is popping up now across Scotland and it won't be long till we see the first Calocybe gambosa (St George's Mushroom)). We are always keen to hear about new records for any of these species at any time.
