CLASS M and N 2-6-0

Class M consisted of 33 light Moguls while Class N consisted of 55 even smaller Moguls. Until about 1907 Class M and N were Class L and M.

M-1 Class

Old Colony 185 became M-1 602. It was built by the Old Colony Shops in 1892 and was retired in 1926.

M-2 Class

1085 became M-2 606. It was one of two in the M-2 Class, both built by Rogers for the NY&NE in 1892.

M-3 Class

798 became M-3 613. It was built by the Old Colony Shops in 1893 as 198 and retired in 1922.

M-4 Class

623 was built as New York & New England 163 by Cooke in 1890 and retired in 1924.

New England 165 was built by Cooke in 1890 and became M-4 625 and was retired in 1924. East Hartford

M-5 Class

69 was built by Rhode Island in 1892 and became M-5 630 and was reired in 1925.

M-6 Class

690 was built by Hinkley in 1889 as Old Colony 90, became M-6 636 and was retired in 1925.

M-7 Class

New York & New England 86 became M-7 641. It was built by Rhode Island in 1889 and retired in 1922.

M-8 Class

174 became M-8 647. It was built by Rogers in 1881 and retired in 1924.

175 was built by Rogers in 1881, became M-8 648 and was retired in 1924.

N-1 Class

379 became N-1 700. It was built as Providence & Worcester 21 by Rhode Island in 1890 and retired in 1915.

398 was built as P&W 40 by Rhode Island in 1887, became N-1 703 and was retired in 1919.

N-2 Class

New York & New England 84 was built by Rhode Island in 1880, became N-2 714 and was scrapped in 1925.

719 was built as New York & New England 142 by Rhode Island in 1883 and retired in 1920. At Taunton in 1913.

1043 was built as NY&NE 143 by Rhode Island in 1900, became N-2 720 and was retired in 1917. Lowell 1900

1046 became N-2 723. It was built as NY&NE 146 by Rhode Island in1883 and retired in 1923.

N-3 Class

1031 became N-3-b 761. It was built as NY&NE 131 by Grant in 1883 and retired in 1914.

1017 was built as NY&NE 117 by Grant in 1882, became N-3-b 772 and was retired in 1912.
