Wiring - 12/2010

From the beginning of the build, Jim maintained that the one part of the build that he was most concerned about was the wiring The wiring is necessarily one of the last mechanical parts of the build to be done, and with most of the other parts installed, it was time to start on it. Jim and I decided to work on it together in case he had any difficulty determining the colors of the wires. The wiring came with its own separate manual.

Jim mounted the fuse panel in the area of the driver's side footbox, as described in the manual. However, because we had altered the type of clutch in the car to a hydraulic clutch which was placed in a slightly different area, mounting the fuse panel was not as easy as the manual suggested. He got it done though, and we began feeding the wiring to the different parts of the car. Jim also installed the battery in our finished battery box.

Finishing the wiring will require that the dash be temporarily mounted and gauges installed in the car so that the gauges can be hooked up. By New Year's Eve, Lola should have a dash.
