Power Steering - 1/2011

There are really just a few things that need to get completed before we are ready to put the body on . . . finishing up the wiring, the brake lines, the power steering pump, and a few other odds and ends.

Jim decided to tackle the power steering pump. Previous editions of the Mk4 had square tubes inside the frame which made it easier to attach the pump to the frame, but the current version has round tubes which made it impossible to attach it the way people had previously attached it. Jim decided to create a bracket to attach to the tubes that cross behind the radiator in order to attach it. The reservoir had to be placed higher than the pump so that additional fluid could flow into the pump when necessary.
