Accelerator Cable - 12/2010

The kit from Factory included an accelerator cable running from the gas pedal to the engine consisting of a long tube, and a wire that is fished inside the tube that moves as the gas pedal is depressed. After the installation of the engine and pedal box, Jim installed the accelerator cable but discovered that, while it would get the job done, it would have to eventually be replaced. The wire tends to rub against the the tube making a grating sound. Eventually we fear that the rubbing of the wire against the tube will wear the wire down, causing it to snap. Jim has decided that it will be the first thing to be replaced after finishing the car.
