Audition Information
THREE THINGS TO DO ONLINE BEFORE WE SEE YOU AT AUDITIONS/INTERVIEWS:
1. Sign up for an Audition/Interview Time Online **see link under audition sign up"
2. Fill out the Online Application Form for either On-Stage or Off-Stage Cast or Musician. These forms can be found under the tab "application forms"
3. Fill out the Online Conflict Calendar.
Note: Although you don't need to prepare anything, there is some general information about what to expect listed on the calendar below as well on the call backs tab of this website.

About the conflict calendar and your responsibilities

Informational Meeting - Choir Room, 3:30 – 4:30 pm
FOR ALL CAST MEMBERS ON-STAGE, OFF-STAGE OR MUSICIANS
Information regarding On-stage auditions, Off-stage (crew) opportunities and orchestra auditions
Tuesday, Nov 7, (No School Day)
Vocal Workshop Chorus Auditions: 12:00-12:30pm – Choir Room
It is highly recommended, but not mandatory that students auditioning attend the vocal workshop, to practice the songs with the piano accompaniment that will be provided at auditions. Students will not be privately coached, they will just be allowed to run through the music a few times with the piano in a group setting.
Vocal Workshop for Lead Auditions - 12:30-1:00pm – Choir Room

Dance Workshop for Chorus - 1:15 – 3:15 pm – BCPA Stage
This workshop is highly recommended for all students auditioning for on-stage roles.
You will learn the choreography to a small part of a chorus song to be performed at Singing/Dancing Auditions
Acting Workshop for all 3:30-5:00pm – BCPA Stage
Sunday, Nov 12
Singing/Dancing Chorus Auditions - BCPA, 12-3:00 PM
Required for ALL students auditioning for on-stage rolls.
Students will arrive before their session to check in, warm up, and stretch.
Your photograph will be taken prior to your audition with your audition number.
At the start of the audition students will be asked to sing “Happy Birthday” individually, while on stage in front of the Audition Judges (including but not limited to the Music Director, Choreographer, Technical Director, and Acting Director.)
You must have your application and conflict calendar filled out in advance.
Students will then audition in small groups, while singing and dancing simultaneously.
Students may be asked to sing the Chorus Music individually as well.
Students will have an opportunity to show any special skills or tricks they have during this audition.
Auditions will be held in the Brighton Center for Performing Arts, and are closed to students (unless they are auditioning) and parents.
Sunday, Nov 12
Lead Role Auditions - BCPA, 3:00 – 9:30 PM
Students who have been placed in the On-Stage Cast can go on to audition for a lead if they choose or remain in chorus
Students auditioning for lead/featured roles will be asked to perform their prepared song. We will call in students by groups to sing (i.e. girl lead 1, girl lead 2, boy lead 1, boy lead 2, etc).
Students will want to bring homework and a snack/bag dinner. Students will be dismissed as auditions for their roles are finished.
Be prepared to sing the song(s) for the lead role or roles you are auditioning for.
Note: If we don’t see you as the role you are auditioning for, you are not ruled out from being cast in that other role. We may still call you back for a different role.

Lead Role Callbacks - Choir Room, 3:30 – 10:00 PM
Call back list will be posted on the internal website Sunday night
If you are not called back it DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN THAT YOU WERE NOT CAST. It may just mean that we don’t need to see you again before final roles are decided.
Bring a snack/dinner/homework to work on during “down time.”
You will be provided with other excerpts of the script to rehearse briefly with another student and then perform in front of the group.
You may also be asked to learn part of a song and sing it with another student or in a small group to determine harmony, etc.
You may also be asked to showcase any of the work from chorus auditions, including singing or dancing the choreography from the initial chorus auditions.
Final Cast list will be posted no later than Saturday, Nov 18 at 10am
Monday, Nov 20 and Tuesday, Nov 21 NEW DAY AND TIMES!!!!
Interviews (Off-Stage Cast) - Drama Room, by appointment 3:00 – 9:00 PM
Students must fill out the application form and conflict calendar on line prior to appointment
Sign Up Online (SignUp Genius) for 5 Minute Timeslots
The off-stage role list will be posted by 9:00 AM the next day.

April 15, final payments due for late charges
