Program Bio

Cast & Crew & Musicians…

PLEASE READ THIS PAGE FIRST!

Your BIO is due on DEC 15 by 11:59 pm...... but the sooner the better, please!!!  We have deadlines for printing the program so if you do not get your headshot taken and bio written by the deadline your space in the program will be blank.

A BIO is a little blurb that will go next to your photo in the program.  You get to talk about yourself, give some history that applies to your performing arts experience and thank those family members or friends who have helped you to get to where you are.  This is NOT the place for personal/private jokes

Please write in third person (NOT first person).  This means that you write as though someone else is talking about you, not as if you are talking about yourself.  In other words, don’t refer to “I” or “me,” and instead say “he” or “she.”  Check spelling and grammar!  Indicate in some way what grade/year you are in school.  Be interesting and brief!  No more than 6 lines.  Be sure to thank those who always support you!

Also, sentences like “Sarah likes to experiment with Snapchat filters…” will be edited.  That statement may be true, but it will be edited out of your bio in order to keep professionalism throughout our show.

Yes, we have full editing privileges, so write your BIO well.

SPELL CORRECTLY!  HAVE A FRIEND AND PARENT/ADULT PROOF IT!!!

Here are a few samples of some former bios:

Brad Smith (Ensemble) – This is Brad’s 3rd musical at BHS. His four years here have been the happiest times of his life and he would like to thank his parents for their continued support in all that he does.  Brad sings in Chamber Choir.  Brad's hobbies are skiing, baseball and weight lifting. In his spare time he likes to watch lots of You-Tube videos. He plans to go to Michigan State University next year and would like to major in pre-med. He would like to thank his parents, his grandma and his directors for helping become the best that he could be.

Lynn Jones (Ariel) – This is Lynn’s second musical here at BHS, but it hopefully won’t be her last. She takes voice lessons, and is in both choir and acting class.  She would like to pursue a career on the stage someday.  She has spent the last two summers at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and really loved it. Being in Footloose is a dream come true for her. She wants to thank all of her awesome friends and family for all of their love and support.

Dave Black (Violin) – This is Dave’s first year in the pit orchestra.  He follows in the footsteps of his older sister who sang and his older brother who played the cello. He studies privately with a teacher at Wayne State University.  Dave would like to make a career in music performance, so he plans to go to the University of Michigan and study violin performance.

Jamie Anderson (Set painting/props) – This is Jamie’s third musical here at Brighton, and she’s hoping for one more, his senior year.  She loves working backstage, away from the lights and crowds.  She has taken many visual art and computer graphics classes here at BHS.  She hopes there is a future in this for her. Meanwhile, she plays lots of sports and likes to eat sushi. Visting art museums is also one of Jamie’s hobbies.  She wants to thank the directors and his parents for believing in the talents that she has.
