September Week 3 - Clearview Competition
What an incredible first competition at Absegami! Everything is officially in motion and we can officially switch from saying "it's going to be a great season" to "it IS a great season!" Saturday we learned how to overcome adversity and win against the competition in the mirror by delivering on our consistent promise to ourselves that our show run would be better than the previous one. While we were the only ones competing in group 5A at this particular show, when combined with the scores from other shows this past weekend, we are currently ranked in 1st place across all group 5A bands in USBands! We will not be returning to a USBands show until our final show at National Championships on 11/4, so anything can happen - let's stay on our game!

On a personal note, I was also honored to receive the award for best band director at the competition as voted on by audience members - thank you to everyone who voted for me 😄🦅
Looking Ahead
The next two weeks have a couple schedule differences from our usual routine, some of which were reviewed with the band in our post show meeting on Saturday. This Thursday is back to school night so we will be ending rehearsal early with pickup at 5:30. Friday's away game at Delsea will be beginning at 7 PM, and are making up for the previous day's lost rehearsal time with sectionals after school. Saturday features an extended rehearsal due to having little to no Saturday rehearsal time until our home show (and we are looking to complete more of our show). This Saturday's show at Clearview is our MOST LOCAL SHOW of the season (besides home show) and I hope we are able to have one of our biggest audiences of the year! Looking ahead to next weekend, there is no competition due to the Dragon Run being held on Saturday, September 30th - one of the most memorable days of our season!

Thursday - after school rehearsal, PICKUP 5:30 PM (HS Back to School Night 6:30) (21st night of September)
Friday - Away Game at Delsea/Sectional Rehearsals
GUARD and FRONT ENSEMBLE - rehearsing 3:15-6

After school - eat/break
3:45 PM - sectionals
5:15 PM - load buses
5:45 PM - depart Kingsway
6:20 PM - arrive at Delsea/unload/take seats
7:00 PM - game begins (this is the only game that starts at 7)
9:45 PM~ - game ends/load buses/depart
10:30 PM - arrive at Kingsway/unload/dismissal
