pandemic 2020 april

wed

this lesson, given wed mar 18, is required. You are expected to fill in form for #1-5 p274.

e learning lesson 1 is ready to go......

welcome to e lesson #1 please start video. Pause video and watch st cyril ; then return to e lesson 1 and pray with me :

Father, Cyril of Jerusalem helped Christians understand their baptism and remain true to Christ. By his prayers may we live our baptism fully, and cling to the truth of Jesus Christ. I confess my sin to the Lord, and you will forgive the wickedness of my heart.

Amen.

Start the video again. The following is some of script on video. (St. Cyril! He maintained Christ was divine, when a lot of the Christian world disagreed. The Arian heresy is still alive and well today, even though we don't call it that. Fortunately for us, the Catholic Church is no longer divided about this question, it was decided in by Cyril and the other bishops in the 300's that Christ is human and God.

Unless things change, this will be the last lesson until March 30. Stay tuned though. As we see everyday, 'things change' . If the current plan persists we will review ch7 and what we cover in ch8 today when we return to class March30. After we review on March 30, there may be some kind of evaluation, but please don't worry about it. Even though there will be 'no school' my plan is to post something everyday on my google classroom. That something will be a prayer, I would like to pray with you during this time, if you wish. It is optional, there is no 'grade' or requirement to view and participate.

Now we will start the chemistry lesson. )

As the video e lesson #1 plays, Please follow along with me in chapter 8 notes the first 6 slides. example sited in video:

word: magnesium metal combines with oxygen gas when heated to produce magnesium oxide solid

formula: Mg(s) + O2(g) --^--> MgO(s)

chemical equation: 2Mg(s) + O2(g) --^-->2MgO(s)

At one point you will stop video again and view a rather ancient podcast that I made ch8 podcast 5 reactions (you may have trouble with this, if so, you may omit); then finish the e lesson #1 video. Please answer ch8 p274(e260) #1-5 on the form provided. You will also classify the reactions in these problems. I hope you enjoyed the first day of class as much as I did!

tentative plan: march 30 we resume; however, we have been encouraged to provide suggested but not required activities. I am kind of excited about that, because I always wondered what education would be like without grades. It will be listed as "Suggested Online Activities for H. Chem' . I am planning to put some up later today, maybe after most students turn in their homework from the text. At this point, I suggest always going to google classroom first. Then, you may be directed back to this website. Thanks!

everything below are optional activities; we resume required school mar 30; stay tuned for changes!
