Dear parents

Dear Parents,

Your son/daughter is in my science class; below you will find some information that may help you when discussing their grade with them.

1. HOMEWORK

a. There is some almost everyday.

b. It is usually checked at the beginning of every class

c. Grades and missing work can be seen on net classroom; assignments and lessons plans can be seen on my website

d. Most students get an A for the homework grade.

e. To get a perfect score on homework, try to do every question, have it done on time, correct it when we go over it in class.

f. The homework is about 1/3 of the grade.

2. TESTS

a. There is a test about every week. There will be quizes, too.

b. The day before we review.

c. The day after is a correction/remediation day, in which the students gain additional test points by correcting their test mistakes.

d. If a student gets a D or F on a test, they may retake the test within 1 week; if they do better, they can raise their test grade to a C-.

e. The tests are about 2/3 of the grade.

a. You may see your son/daughter’s grade by going to the school’s website: click on net classroom (upper right corner); you will need a password.

5. NEED EXTRA HELP?

a. I am available after and before school and during advisory.
