Experimental archaeology is an important component of our teaching at the University of York. All of our undergraduate students spend some time working at the YEAR Centre, usually in their very first term at university, and further more specialised course can be selected later in the course. If you would like to know more about our undergraduate Archaeology course at York, further information can be found via our dedicated webpage.
We also have a dedicated Masters degree which focuses on Material Culture and Experimental Archaeology. The YEAR Centre is used to support teaching as part of the programme, as well as dissertation projects focussing on experimental archaeology. If you would like to know more about the programme, further information can be found via our webpage.
The Year Centre is also used by our community of Masters by Research and PhD students. Take a look at ongoing and past research pages to explore some of the projects that are underway or that have been completed.
