Jim Glazzard

As a modern craft worker, skilled in the production of objects in many materials used in the Viking-age, Jim is very interested in the lifeways of the artisans who produced the material culture of the past. Particularly how they accomplished tasks for which the modern craft worker has the advantage of modern tools and materials. 

Jim's PhD research focuses on Viking metal working, extending to the types of spaces in which craft specialists my have worked. To this end, Jim has begun building a workshop from using Viking building techniques and appropriate materials. This will become the focal point of future metal working experiments.
