My new project, Stone Dead funded by an AHRC Early Career grant. This project is integrating human and object life histories to understand why stone tools were placed in Mesolithic graves and how they relate (if at all) to the identities of the deceased. Stone Dead includes provenancing and technological studies, experimental archaeology and microwear analysis of lithic grave goods from the burial ground of Zvejnieki (Latvia).
