Avian Adaptations and Flight
What can birds teach us about ecosystems and survival?
In this feather-filled adventure, students will take flight into the fascinating world of birds! From pecking beaks to soaring wings, campers will explore how birds are built for survival and what their behaviors reveal about the ecosystems they call home.
Campers will investigate local bird species, build their own bird feeders, and collect real-world data through observation and journaling. Then, they'll get creative by producing their own bird-themed podcast or zine—complete with interviews, fun facts, and tips for protecting our feathered friends.
With a mix of science, writing, and media arts, this session is perfect for curious minds who love nature, creativity, and hands-on learning.

Animals that Build
How do animals create structures, and what can we learn from them?
In this hands-on, discovery-filled session, campers will explore the incredible world of animal engineering! From beehives and bird nests to beaver dams and termite towers, students will investigate how animals design and build with purpose, using materials from their environment to create shelters, traps, and even entire ecosystems.
Campers will take on STEM design challenges inspired by real-world animal builders and test their own nature-inspired structures for strength, stability, and creativity. They'll also research a favorite "Animal Architect" and produce a short documentary-style video presentation to share what they’ve learned.
Blending science, technology, engineering, and storytelling, this session is perfect for curious minds who love building, inventing, and discovering how nature inspires innovation!
