Welcome to YCMS Garden Gurus, where students dig into the world of plants, pollinators, and giving back—one garden project at a time! Over three themed sessions, campers will explore plant biology, eco-friendly design, and how gardens can bring wellness and fresh food to communities. Each session features real-world learning, creative projects, and opportunities to build skills in science, writing, art, and teamwork.

Whether they're testing soil, designing bee hotels, or launching a garden campaign, students will walk away with green thumbs and growing minds!

Seed to Sprout – Gardening 101

Theme: Plant Biology + Garden Planning

In this fun, hands-on session, students will become young garden scientists as they learn how plants grow and what it takes to create a healthy, thriving garden. From planting seeds to designing their own garden plans, kids will dig into science, use real-world math, and express their ideas through creative journaling—all while exploring the wonders of nature from the ground up!

Pollinator Paradise –

Building Ecosystems

Garden ecology, pollinators, and environmental teamwork

🌼 What It’s All About

In this nature-packed session, campers will step into the role of “Pollinator Protectors,” learning how bees, butterflies, birds, and even bats help plants grow and ecosystems thrive. Through fun science experiments, creative projects, and teamwork, students will discover how people, plants, and pollinators all rely on one another—and how we can work together to protect them.
