In Game On!, students become designers, coders, and creators as they explore the exciting world of game development from three unique angles—analog, digital, and audio-based games. Whether your camper loves classic board games, video games, or creative storytelling, this class has something to level up every imagination.

Each two-week session focuses on a different type of game creation and blends hands-on learning with cross-curricular fun through ELA, math, art, music, computer science, and technology.

Level Up! Designing Analog Games

Let the games begin!

In this creative, hands-on session, campers become board game designers as they dive into the exciting world of analog games — like cards, dice, and tabletop adventures. Over the course of 8 days, students will discover what makes games fun and fair, and learn how to build their own from scratch.

Each day blends fun with learning as students explore storytelling, math logic, and artistic design. From crafting characters and rules to sketching game boards and testing strategies, campers will bring their game ideas to life. The session ends with a showcase where everyone plays and celebrates each other’s creations!

Ready, set, CODE!

In this exciting tech-powered session, campers step into the shoes of real game developers. Using fun and beginner-friendly tools like Scratch or Construct, students will design their own interactive video games from the ground up.

Campers will learn the basics of coding and game design as they bring their creative ideas to life. Whether they’re building a side-scrolling platformer or crafting a choose-your-own-adventure experience, they’ll use storytelling, math, and logic to create games that are as smart as they are fun!

In this unique session, campers explore how sound, music, and storytelling come together to create unforgettable game experiences. From epic adventure themes to spooky sound effects, students will learn how to shape emotion and excitement using the power of audio.

Whether they’re writing their own interactive story or designing a custom soundtrack for a video game level, campers will use creative writing, music tools, and audio editing software to bring their ideas to life. No coding experience needed—just imagination and a good set of headphones!
