Students will journey across continents and centuries as they explore the ways ancient civilizations, natural landscapes, and creative problem-solvers have shaped the Earth we know today. Each session combines hands-on creativity, teamwork, and big ideas, inviting campers to become historians, geographers, engineers, and storytellers.
Session 1
June 16 - 26
Pack your (imaginary) passport and get ready for a journey back in time! In this exciting session, students will become young historians and geographers as they explore how ancient civilizations like Rome, Mali, and China helped shape our modern world.
Campers will dive into ancient maps to discover how people traveled, traded, and settled long ago. Then, they’ll bring history to life in a “Time Travel Trade Show,” where they’ll compare mighty empires and what made each one unique. Working together, students will create their own “Empire Passport” full of facts, culture, and fun discoveries about one civilization.
To top it all off, they’ll build a 3D map model of their empire using recyclable materials—turning learning into a hands-on adventure!
In this adventurous session, students will become explorers, engineers, and architects as they journey to some of the world’s most famous landmarks—including the ancient city of Petra, the breathtaking heights of Machu Picchu, and the mighty Great Wall of China!
Together, they'll discover how geography shaped these incredible places and how people throughout history have found creative ways to live with—and build upon—their environments. Then, using that inspiration, campers will dream up and design their own cities, placing them in natural landforms like mountains, rivers, or deserts.
For their final project, students will become travel agents of the future, crafting eco-friendly travel brochures that highlight the unique features and sustainable innovations of their imaginary cities!

July 21- July 31
Step into the role of a time-traveling storyteller! In this culminating session, students will revisit their favorite discoveries from earlier adventures and transform them into creative exhibits fit for a museum of the future.
Campers will curate their own “Exhibit of Time,” showcasing handcrafted artifacts, city designs, and cultural creations from their global journeys. They’ll also create multimedia stories, imagining what it would be like to share Earth’s history with visitors from another time.
The experience ends with a special Museum Walk & Cultural Exchange Celebration, where students proudly share their work with peers and guests. As a final touch, they'll build a classroom Time Capsule filled with their reflections, hopes, and souvenirs—sealed until the end of Grizzly Learning Camp!
