Get ready to turn up the creativity in SoundStage Studio, a hands-on music and performance class designed for rising 6th–8th graders. Whether your child loves making beats, writing lyrics, or performing in front of a crowd, this class offers something for every type of music-maker. Across three exciting sessions, students will explore the science behind sound, experiment with songwriting and vocal performance, and bring their ideas to life in a live showcase!

“Behind the Beat –

The Science & Math of Sound”

Can you see sound? Can math help us make music?

In this hands-on session, students dive into the fascinating world of sound by blending science, math, and music-making. They'll explore how sound waves work, how rhythms are built using fractions, and how cultures across the world use beats to tell stories.

Campers will get creative with beat-making software like Soundtrap or BandLab, build their own "sound booth" models, and work in groups to craft original loops and rhythms. From soundwave experiments to exploring the roots of global music styles, this session hits all the right notes!

“Voice & Vibe –

From Lyrics to Layers”

Can your voice tell a story that moves people?

In this creative and expressive session, students will dive into the art of songwriting and vocal performance. From crafting original lyrics to layering harmonies and recording vocals, campers will explore how to turn words and rhythms into powerful performances.

Whether they're into singing, rapping, or spoken word poetry, students will learn how to shape their voice, choose the right tone, and bring their ideas to life using music-making software. They’ll also explore songs from around the world to understand how music tells stories across cultures.
