A PUBLICATION FOR PARENTS

OF THE

ST. ROBERT CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL COMMUNITY

Knowledge is the Beginning

FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK...

Welcome to a new school year!

I want to welcome back all of our returning students and officially welcome all grade 9 students. I look forward to a wonderful year ahead as you all journey towards a very successful year.

What a year it has been thus far! Whoever would have thought that March 13 of this year would change our world as we knew it. For the last 4 months of our 2019-2020 academic year, we delivered an education to your children virtually. Our new school year began with the majority of our students coming in to school and receiving face to face instruction. However, over the past few weeks, our virtual learners have grown to form the majority. We thank all parents and appreciate the tough choices you have made for the wellbeing of your children. We are doing our best in delivering a solid Catholic education. No doubt that there have been many obstacles along the way and the constant changes that come our way from the Ministry but in spite of this, we continue to cope and juggle these many changes. I ask all parents/guardians to please bare with us as we too are transitioning to a whole new way of teaching!

Our year did not begin as we normally do. Many events were cancelled such as the grade 9 orientation at Muskoka Woods; Getting Parents Ready for High School; student leaders retreat; just to name a few. For all returning students and families, we all know that last year was a difficult one. I am very proud to say that many events and programs were implemented into our curriculum to help ease mental health concerns. Wellness Wednesdays are still at the forefront this year however with a slight difference. Given that the morning session is 2.5 hours long, we have incorporated our Wellness activities during this time along with the regular curriculum. We will continue to provide resources and personnel in helping all of our students.

Finally, I want to welcome our new staff that have joined us this year. Angela Capozzolo, Deborah Ramcharran, Stephanie Leung, Anthony Atletico, Daniele Farrace, Roberto Niro, Leeza Shakkouri, Marissa Bianchi, Victor Odtuhan, Andrea Jammehdiabadi, Anna Maria Della Rossa, Ashley Scarcello, Daniela Capocci, Courtney McLelland, Anthony Constantini, Rebecca Lowe, Jason Bisogno, Charlene Duraes, Shannon Fitzpatrick, Sue Luff, Zabde-Ezra Ayienga, Kyle Brown. I look forward to the many talents that you all bring to our STR community.

2020 Virtual Graduation Ceremony

& Graduation Package Distribution

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams and live the life you've imagined.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our regular Graduation Ceremony to celebrate the remarkable student achievements of our graduates could not occur in person. However, in order to honour our graduating Class of 2020 and to celebrate and promote their student achievements parents and students accessed a video graduation ceremony.

Graduation packages were created for every St. Robert 2020 Graduate and distributed in a Co-Vid safe drive-thru procedure.

Rams of the Month

This award is given to any student for performing a good deed. The intent is to honour students for going out of their way to help others.
