Chaplaincy

Chapel Updates

To support the school community through this difficult time, our chapel is now open. There is a maximum occupancy of 4 people, with proper health and safety protocols in place to ensure a safe environment. The chapel houses a beautiful new altar, lectern and tabernacle. All staff and students are invited to drop in and enjoy the space for quiet reflection and prayer.

Virtual Paraliturgy

Our first school wide paraliturgy was held on Thursday September 24, 2020 and was celebrated by Fr. Peter Choi of St. Andre Bessette.

Students and staff that participated in this paraliturgy followed health protocols by social distancing and wearing masks. Although this form of worship is new to our school, it was a success. We are proud to continue our support for the faith and well-being of the school community even during this pandemic.

All Souls Day

The St. Robert CHS Liturgical choir completed its first virtual recording for All Souls Day, where students recorded the song "Blest Are They". The piece emerged from audio submissions by choir members and hard work from our editor. We are extremely pleased and grateful for all the participation received for our first project. Let it provide comfort and peace of mind. Stay tuned for more music!

This school year, we are continuing with our monthly "Wellness Wednesdays". On these days, classes will begin with activities that promote wellness. Our first Wellness Wednesday was held in October. Activities such as “20 questions” and “Would you rather” contributed to the theme “getting to know your classmates better” in order to provide an opportunity for social interaction among students, especially those new to our school. We aim to bring a sense of closeness and familiarity, especially during this distressing period. It was heartwarming to see students be able to connect with each other as they did despite the physical limitations.

The second Wellness Wednesday was held on Wednesday November 11, 2020. Activities focused on the theme of Self-Love, Self-Care, and Self-Reflection as a way for our school community to learn to better appreciate themselves. Our activities aimed to highlight the importance of taking care of yourself, recognizing your value, and becoming who you truly want to be. Through this Wellness Wednesday, we hope to inspire our staff and students to recognize that they are all valid and are worthy of love and respect, both from themselves and from others. As we prepare to begin our second Quadmester, we hope these activities encourage the St. Robert community to start a new self-care routine or habit that will make them feel more at ease and happier overall. Self-Appreciation is something that is commonly overlooked in this day and age, so we hope these activities helped everyone realise that loving yourself is just as important as loving others.
