The Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics tests the math skills are expected to have learned by the end of the Grade 9 Mathematics course. Beginning in 2021/2022 the Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics will be online and will be based on the new Ontario Grade 9 mathematics curriculum.
The OSSLT measures whether students are meeting the minimum standard for literacy across all subjects up to the end of Grade 9. Successful completion of the literacy test is one of the requirements to earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Click the image to the right for an overview of the OSSLT.

Sample Test - The sample test provides students with the chance to familiarize themselves with the online format of the assessment. It consists of two stages with a total of 25 questions. These questions will assess students' learning across the new grade 9 curriculum.
Practice Test - The EQAO practice OSSLT test offers students the opportunity to become familiar with the online test format and platform. The test is in two sections and is made up of content that appeared on previous versions of the test and is equivalent to what students will see on the live test. It also includes an introductory session to help students know how to use the various tools and functions.
YCDSB Literacy Skills Website - This site was developed to provide YCDSB students in grades 7-12 with resources to help them develop and build on their literacy skills. The site can be used independently and covers a variety of concepts that will assessed on the OSSLT.
This site was developed to provide resources to prepare students for the OSSLT. The site can be accessed by student with their k12.ca account. Take advantage of the videos, activities and practice test to become familiar with the types of activities/questions that will be on the actual test. Repetition is key to feeling successful in completing the OSSLT.
