Two of the most important concepts I learned this semester
The two most important concepts that I learned this semester are perspective and placement. Perspective is important because you could make a photo or artwork look completely different just depending on the perspective, as well as they can make the picture or artwork look so much better. For example, during the one-point perspective piece, you had to make sure everything was the correct perspective, and it makes the piece look so much better. Placement is very important, when we did the still life drawings you needed to make sure the placement was very accurate, and if one thing is off it could end up making your whole piece look off. I worked very hard to make sure my placement was accurate and correct.
Assignment that I am the most proud of
The work that I am most proud of is my ceramic tile. I feel like this was a long project and I spent a lot of time working on it to make sure it looked super good. I love the way it turned out, and how everything looks. I also really liked how it was about an endangered species, and we made the tile to create an impact. As well as how everything we created on the tile was related to the species' life.
The main reason I like to make art is that it is calming and I truly enjoy it, especially when I can choose what I get to create. Many things inspire me to make art, I would say one reason is when I see all the mugs that are handmade it inspires me to make one myself. I really enjoy making pottery and painting. I hope to improve on my drawing and painting skills, I've always wanted to be really good at painting but it just never turns out well. I also hope to learn more about ceramics and how to get better at throwing.
