Purpose:
To learn how to visually communicate a message through Graphic Design:
To understand what a logo is and its function;
To explain and describe the process of designing logos;
To use creative problem solving skills to design a clear, original, and effective logo.
The business, "Bobo Butters," specializes in creating high-quality body butters crafted with quality ingredients, such as mango butter, designed to nourish the skin and provide a radiant, healthy glow. The target audience includes women aged 20 and older who value skincare products made with natural, effective ingredients that deliver noticeable results.
My Process: I wanted to take a simple approach because I feel like doing too much won’t get the point across. I wanted to create a logo that symbolizes connection, self-love, and maturity. I did this by drawing mango leaves to connect with the main ingredient, mango butter. However, I felt that it didn’t represent my target audience, so I shifted and created a heart. But then I realized it was basic, so I made two people intertwine to form a heart, symbolizing connection and self-love. I used Didot font to represent elegance for a mature audience. I also used colors like tan to show maturity, but I also used salmon pink to appeal to a woman audience. The balance of simplicity and meaning allowed me to craft a logo that represents the brand's values
Concepts: I learned that a logo tells a lot about the company and how it can attract their audience. I also learned that the simpler the design is, the more memorable it becomes because it symbolizes the company and can create more recognition. Additionally, I learned that color psychology plays a huge part in a logo because it evokes emotions and targets the right audience.
