SHS Library Webinar Series 2021
To celebrate the Library and Information Services Month and American Education Week, the library conducted a free webinar series with the theme "Libraries building ROADS: Readers. Opportunities. Advocacies. Development. Sustainability.” on November 13, 2021 (Saturday) at 9:00 am via Zoom and Facebook Live @XASHLib in collaboration with Xavier University Libraries and American Corner - Cagayan de Oro. The invited speakers were Ms. Donna Lyn G. Labangon, Mrs. Ma. Lorna A. Eguia, and Ms. Jo Deakins to share their experience, knowledge, and expertise with the participants. The webinar aimed to inculcate the love of reading and foster the culture of research and innovation in our community.
Most of the participants who joined were from Xavier Ateneo Community; Xavier Academy of Initao headed by Fr. Mark Harvey Elloren,SSJV; Library and Information Science students from Lourdes College; Megatext Philippines; and librarians from different institutions in the Philippines. The total participants who joined through Zoom were 138 while during the Facebook Live @XASHLib, there were 1,214 People Reached, 445 Engagements, 54 Reactions, 15 Comments, and 18 Shares.
Online Database User Training
The library conducted its first Online Database User Training. The webinar aimed to educate the SHS community on accessing and navigating the subscribed online databases efficiently and effectively. It was held on September 8, 2021 (Wednesday) at 1:00 pm via Zoom and Facebook Live. The guest speaker was Ms. Sanlor Demonteverde-Sumiga from Megatext Phils. Inc. The total participants who joined through Zoom were almost 100 while during the Facebook Live @XASHLib, there were 11,305 People Reached, 6,922 Engagements, 506 Reactions, 1,000 Comments, and 54 Shares.
