Brown Bag Session

It is an informal information sharing of knowledge and experience with the library staff during a lunch break. It allows library staff to engage and get to know each other. It also promotes learning and trust-building among them.

As the cherry on top of our love month, the #XASHLib in collaboration with SHS Non-teaching Staff had an information-sharing of knowledge on Creating Easy Videos with Canva via MS Teams. The #XASHLib Readers' Advisory In-Charge, Ms. Eloiza Tagarda, enthusiastically shared her expertise in creating and designing videos, infographics, promotional/marketing materials using the Canva for Education app.

Here’s to more #BrownBagSession!

#XASHLib’s marching in the month of March will not be complete without a Brown Bag Session.

Last March 11, 2022, the participants had their lunch and gained another knowledge. With the help of the SHS Chemistry Laboratory Technician, Ms. Dominica P. Qujano and in collaboration with the SHS Non-teaching staff. She guided the participants in Creating Bulk Certificates Using Mail Merge.

We are MARCHing on forward as we celebrate Women’s History Month. Your #XASHLib in collaboration with SHS Non-Teaching Staff successfully conducted another informative session on the topic “Creating Bulk Certificates Using Mail Merge” with Ms. Dominica P. Quijano, our Chem Lab-tech. It was indeed a very productive information-sharing session. Looking forward to our next session this April.

A new beginning and our first successful Brown Bag Session of the year!

In cooperation with XUSHS-NTS, we were able to conduct online the Brown Bag Session via MS Team last January 12, 2022. The speaker of the session was Mr. Francisco A. Umaran and 15 participants were able to join.  The session aimed to help them to access and utilize the basic settings of the Zoom Application which is extremely useful, especially, in these times, in which we can’t just simply have a face-to-face meeting when we want to.

Brown Bag Session is an informal information sharing of knowledge and experience during a lunch break. It allows us to engage and get to know each other. It also promotes learning and trust-building among us.

Cheers to more #BrownBagSession!

On June 17, commence the 1st Brown Bag Session at #XASHLib featuring our creative colleague Ms. Eloiza Tagarda

The session is all about creating design through CANVA. It aims to help us to easily make a visually engaging design and learning content quickly and easily for library marketing and promotion, even if we have little to no graphic design skills. Canva has several ready-made designed templates and a massive library of stock images, illustrations, videos, graphs, music, and animations that can be used to create any visual piece.

Here is another productive 2nd Brown Bag Session with Mr. Francisco Umaran, our IT Library Staff.

He enthusiastically shared his expertise on how to set-up and operate LCD projectors using mobile phones, laptops, and desktop computers. We are stunned with the new features of the latest Epson projector here in the #XASHLib Lecture space and confab spaces. These facilities are useful for our SHS teacher’s online classes and meetings.

Brown Bag Session with Ms. Miriam Abao

Another successful 3rd brown bag session conducted enthusiastically by our very own Technical Librarian, Ms. Miriam Abao, with the topic "Disaster Preparedness." She presented and showed us some video clips about past earthquakes and floods while explaining clearly the dos and dont's during such disasters. As well as giving us an example of situations of what to do in case natural disasters hit us in the library. We realized after the session how important it is to create a Disaster Managemen Plan for the #XASHLib.
