Library Programs

LIBRARY INSTRUCTION PROGRAMS:

This program aims to orient G11 students to the library facilities, rules and regulations, resources and services. It is a requirement to borrowing library materials.

A program created to strengthen the literacy abilities of the students in locating, evaluating, using, and creating information efficiently and effectively.

Is a training or workshop conducted by the library and database provider that aims to teach students and faculty how to navigate and utilize databases effectively and efficiently. These sessions can be conducted in person, remotely, or online.  

The library offers orientation sessions and guided tours tailored for visiting users and researchers.  

LIBRARY IN-HOUSE TRAININGS:

This program provides library basics for XU librarians and staff. The training covers a wide range of topics, including collection development, cataloging, reference work, and information technology.

It is an informal information sharing of knowledge and experience with the library staff during a lunch break. It allows library staff to engage and get to know each other. It also promotes learning and trust-building among them.

ADOPT-A-LIBRARY PROGRAM

Provides assistance and training in the organization of library materials as well as donates a collection of books and/or other resources to those libraries in need.  

MONTHLY ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES

It is a monthly thematic activity such as a book display or exhibit, a freedom/information wall, trivia questions, and film screenings based on a theme to foster active participation and interaction among students, faculty, and staff, enriching our community's intellectual and cultural experience.  

LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE (LIS) MONTH AND NATIONAL BOOK WEEK (NBW)

It is an annual celebration conducted every month of November to commemorate the significant role of libraries and information centers in the Philippines.
