How to Edit Office Document in Drive

One of the changes made in the new Google Drive was the ablility to edit Microsoft Office documents within Google Drive, not requiring the Office program itself to run.  Below we show you how to edit an Office file within Google Drive with a simple Chrome extension.

So how useful can this be for a teacher?  In the video below, we show you an example of starting a test at work in Word and how Google Drive can help you finish the assignment later.

Remember, with the extension installed you can edit not only Word documents, but also Excel and Powerpoint files as well. Keep in mind you can't create them in Google Drive, that still needs to be done in either Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
