Let's face it, Chrome can be something of a resource hog. It can use a lot of your computer's RAM slowing down other processes you are trying to do. With the latest version of Chrome, you can now turn on their new Memory Saver. Memory Saver automatically frees up memory from tabs you haven’t used in a while. This gives active tabs and other apps more computer resources and keeps Chrome fast.
To turn on Memory Saver;
Click on the 3 dots in Chrome and click Settings
Click on Performance
Toggle the Memory Saver button on If there are certain sites, like Aeries or Google Classroom, that you always want running, just add them to the active list.
