Our school has invested heavily in Chromebooks and there might be some confusion on what makes it different than a regular PC laptop. A Chromebook is basically a Chrome browser running inside a laptop. NO external programs can be installed on it (test generators, photoshop, etc.), making it very secure. Since no programs can be installed it may seem like it doesn't do much, but there are a lot of apps/extensions you can add into the Chrome browser allowing you do to a lot of pc-like tasks. If you have your students log in with their school id log ins, they are allowed to download apps & extensions. The benefit of this is that anytime they log into any Chromebook, that list of apps will be waiting their for them.
This section will look at some of the things you can do with a Chromebook. Some of the things on this list will be helpful for your students or you might find something useful for you to use if you ever find yourself using a Chromebook.
