Analyze the routine set by the teacher by answering the following questions:

1. Were the routines affective in ensuring discipline and order in the class? Why or why not?

The routines are very effective in ensuring discipline and order in the class because these routines are established and students become familiar with it that they already know what to do inside the classroom. Since they are already introduced to the routines and are conditioned by it every day, it becomes part of their practice inside the classroom. They begin to behave accordingly with the routine and they already have knowledge on what is about to happen inside the classroom. This helps in the classroom management aspect.

2. Why do we need to check out the physical aspect of the classroom management?

We need to check out the physical aspect of the classroom management in order to know what the things that are lacking inside the classroom are or what are the things that need repair. It is also important to prioritize the physical aspect of the classroom because it can greatly affect the learning atmosphere of the children. If the environment is conducive for learning, it will have a positive impact on the child’s performance inside the classroom.

3. Are classroom rules really important? Discuss your answer.

Rules are very important inside the classroom because it helps teachers establish order and regulate the actions in class. As we all know, children can get too active especially inside the classroom because they are given the opportunity to explore and learn but it all comes with limitations. In kindergarten, it is important that there are rules to follow because it can also affect the different skills that they have to develop especially the self-help skills and socio-emotional skills.

1. Which of the routines will you most likely to apply in your future class? Why? Or Why not?

The routines that I will most likely apply in the future is the arranging of things inside the classroom, the transitions every block of time, and the grouping of the students based on the table where they belong. The arranging of toys inside the classroom by the children promotes independence and being responsible for the things around them especially on their own things. I would like to impart that to my future class so that they will also develop the said skills. The transitions that took place inside the classroom were the singing of short songs like “Himos Himos”, “Ipalakpak ang Kamot”, and the ringing of the bell that signals meeting time or story time. I will incorporate this to my future class because it can be catchy for the children to hear and they can sing it while they are going back to their seats. Lastly, the groupings in each table is a routine that I would also like to apply because it is easier to distribute activities when they are grouped and you can track down the progress of each child per group through their work.

2. Reflect on the various classroom’s rules set by the teacher. Will you have the same rules? If not, what rules are you going to employ? Explain your answer.

The rules that our resource teacher imposes inside the classroom can be one that I am going to model and incorporate when I have the opportunity to impose the same rules in class in the future. I have seen the progress as day goes by and children have improved especially with the routines that they have already coped with. They also adhere to the rules inside the classroom that it is easier for our resource teacher to have her class.

3. What does this statement mean to you as a future teacher of kindergarten? Explain.

“No amount of good instruction will come out without effective classroom management?

As a future kindergarten teacher, this statement serves as a reminder to me that whatever instruction I produce, it may be the most creative and comprehensive one, but without classroom management, it will mean nothing especially to children’s learning. This means that effective classroom management has a huge impact on the children’s leaning and this is because they are able to know what to do next or they will have knowledge on the things that go about inside the classroom. Through this, children will be able to feel comfort inside the class knowing the routines plus the rules inside the class. Children will be motivated to learn when they already know the routine and how the teacher manages the classroom. I will keep this statement in mind and knowing the importance of routines inside the classroom through the observations I had with my resource teacher, it is helpful for me in the future to incorporate these the routines that I have learned in my field study.
