If requirements are not met, WATL will be unable to provide Circuit Points for your tournament and your venue could be placed under tournament probation.
Affiliate must not have any overdue WATL membership dues
Each division and discipline hosted must have at least 8 throwers or teams to be considered for Circuit Points in that division/discipline
Locals have a reduced requirement for Duals of 6 teams to be considered for Circuit Points.
Must collect Player and Team IDs for all disciplines and organize rosters to WATL's standards
Must review WATL Tournament Guide
Must adhere to WATL standards and guidelines of seeding, brackets, and finals formats
Rosters must be submitted to WATL for seeding 48 hours before the tournament starts. Failure to submit rosters by the requested date/time could result in an unseeded bracket and the de-sanctioning of your event.
Be sure that rosters are complete and player names matching the app as closely as possible no later than the Thursday @3pm ET before your tournament
Circuit points are awarded in all disciplines based on the number of participants in that discipline (not the Tier level of the tournament)
Must adhere to all Prize Pool stipulations
Must send required feedback form to roster no later than 2 weeks after completion of the event
To be considered for a National next year, tournament hosts must meet the following requirements in the current year:
Host a Local or larger tournament
Send the required feedback form to their roster after the completion of the event
Feedback from throwers is considered in the final decision
Display good organizational skills (rosters and information management)
Be communicative with the WATL team and throwers
Must be reasonably, in WATLs’ judgment, capable of fulfilling the commitments submitted in their bids
Must host: Amateur Hatchet, Open Hatchet, Big Axe, and Duals
Cannot cap registrations higher than the minimum agreed upon between the tournament host and WATL.
Must have 1 Certified Judge per lane in use.
EG) A facility running 10 lanes for the tournament must have at least 10 Certified Judges staffed for the event
Prize pool minimum:
NATIONAL: 50% of entry fees + added cash (agreed upon between the tournament host and WATL)
REGIONAL: 50% of entry fees + $1,000
Regionals must submit request to WATL within 8 weeks of the start date for approval
To be eligible to host, must have met the following requirements in 2024:
Hosted a Tier 3 (Local) or larger event
Sent the required feedback form to roster after the completion of event
Displayed good organizational skills (rosters and information management)
Communicative with the WATL team and throwers
Produced a strong bid, including an added cash component to the prize pools
Must be reasonably, in WATLs’ judgment, capable of fulfilling the commitments submitted in the bid
Hatchet may be thrown under one Open Division (played on Amateur rules) or split into 2 divisions (Open and Amateur)
If hosting one Division, this is the only time when the Open division may be played under the Amateur ruleset and the only time a Pro thrower can compete under that ruleset.
If hosting one Hatchet division, must cap registrations at 48 throwers.
If hosting Hatchet Duals, only 6 teams are required to be considered for Circuit Points.
Prize pool payout is a minimum of 50% of entry fees, no added cash is required.
