OJ Simpson Case

Monday, 12/

  • Day 1 - Class will be split into two groups. Prosecution and Defense.

  • "LA County Prosecutors" vs. "The Dream Team"

  • Students will be randomly picked to be on either side.

  • Students are required to take appropriate notes for their side, pertaining to their argument, in their MARBLE notebook.

  • Label each day Day 1, Day 2, etc. and appropriate date.

  • HW: "OJ Questions" on classroom assignment must be complete and due Wednesday, 12/19

Tuesday, 12/

  • Day 2 - Students should begin to form their argument with some facts they have ascertained from the A&E video they are watching.

  • Be prepared to justify your argument from the against your opponent.

Wednesday, 12/

  • Day 3 - Continue with notes on OJ case to create argument for tomorrows debate in class.

Thursday, 12/

  • Day 4 - Last day of video and note-taking for students.

  • "LA County" must prepare opening statement

  • "Dream Team" must prepare opening statement

  • Student will watch last minutes of video.

  • They will have 10-15 minutes to prepare.

  • I will be final judge as to whether or not the LA County Prosecutors have proved beyond a reasonable doubt.

This assignment will count as a TEST grade! It will last approximately 4 class periods and each day's notes are worth equally 20% plus another 20% for the final debate as to whether the PROSECUTION team can prove his guilt or the DEFENSE team is successful defending his innocence!
