  • Introduction to new Unit on Contract law

  • Discussion of how Contracts relate to our daily lives

  • Begin notes on Section 4.1 PowerPoint

  • Do Now: "Bell Ringer" Activity: Contract - any agreement that is enforceable by law.

Tuesday, 1/7

  • Students completed in class Section 4.1 (11 words) and Section 4.2 (8 words) vocabulary in their marble notebook.

  • Look over Figure 4.1 on pg. 83. and explain the diagram and what the (6) elements to every contract are.

  • Review PowerPoint section 4.1 (6 elements slide). Students should take notes on pg. 31 of workbook.

  • Section 4.1 Vocabulary quiz will be Thursday.

Wednesday 1/8

  • Discussion of vocabulary words implied, bilateral, unilateral contracts. Contracts characteristics pgs. 84-86

  • Section 4.1 "Agreements and Contracts" notes regarding The Nature of a Contract and the (6) elements of a contract pgs. 82-83.

  • View attachment "How Contracts Arise" and fill in

  • Review "Contract Elements vs. Contract Characteristics". Which words are a part of Section 4.1 vocabulary?

Thurs 1/9

  • Section 4.1 Vocabulary quiz.

  • Use Columbia House handout (advertisement) "8 CD's for a penny" to discuss these elements of a contract.

  • Real estate contract fill-in. Students will look up Zillow.com to find real estate to purchase.

  • Review/Discussion - Requirements of a VALID OFFER pgs. 88-89 textbook

  • Discussion of Termination of an Offer pgs. 91-93 textbook

  • Section 4.2 Vocab quiz tomorrow. 8 questions.

  • Chapter 4 Test is Friday, January 17th.

  • Read/discuss Global Law-Contracts in China pg. 92 in textbook . Compare contrast with the United States. Discuss advantages vs. disadvantages pg.

Tuesday 1/14

  • Students should specifically take notes on Section 4.2 "Methods of Acceptance".

  • Discussion/Requirements of Acceptance pgs. 89-90 textbook

Wednesday 1/15

  • Filling-in Contract assignment (handout). This will count as an assignment in Class Participation. See how students can complete after going over notes on Contract elements.

Thursday 1/16

  • Review workbook pages that should be completed. All pages are in the classroom for students to review.

  • Chapter 4 Test tomorrow.

  • Students will work on Chromebooks to find a contract on the Internet and outline the (6) elements specifically from that contract. Showed students example of a personal service contract for Coca-Cola and an employee.
