Clinical Supervision
Clinical supervision is a cornerstone of professional development for clinicians at all stages. All supervision is provided directly by Emily, who is independently licensed as a LICSW in Massachusetts. Emily provides collaborative, growth-oriented supervision to mental health professionals seeking to strengthen their clinical skills, case conceptualization abilities, and professional identity.
WHO EMILY SUPERVISES
Emily provides clinical supervision for pre-licensed clinicians, including those with a MSW or LCSW working towards licensure. She also works with early-career therapists seeking additional consultation and guidance, experienced clinicians looking for ongoing supervision or mentorship, and therapists in private practice who want a supportive space for case consultation, ethical decision-making, and professional development.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN SUPERVISION
Supervision includes case consultation and clinical formulation to deepen understanding of complex cases and strengthen treatment planning skills. Emily focuses on diagnostic clarification and conceptualization through psychodynamic, relational, and trauma-informed lenses while also integrating DBT concepts and skills into clinical work.
Sessions may also include support with navigating ethical dilemmas, countertransference, professional boundaries, crisis intervention, direct patient care, and effective case management strategies. Supervision is designed to support both clinical growth and professional identity development, whether clinicians are launching a private practice, transitioning roles, or seeking ongoing mentorship.
Emily also provides guidance around practice development and networking, including opening and managing a private practice, navigating insurance-related challenges, building referral relationships, and collaborating with providers and higher levels of care. For pre-licensed clinicians, supervision can also include support with understanding licensure requirements, supervision documentation, CEUs, and the transition toward independent licensure.
WHY WORK WITH EMILY
Emily has over a decade of experience in the mental health field, including training for years at McLean Hospital and work across inpatient, PHP, IOP, residential, community-based, and outpatient settings. Her supervision style balances clinical skill-building, reflective processing, and practical guidance while tailoring the experience to each clinician’s individual needs and goals.
