christmas in school
Our Christmas tree is up and it is officially Christmas time. We had some special helpers decorating the tree and i am sure you will all agree how lovely it looks.
Our school is filled with lots of naughty elves who are watching over the children in the classroom to make sure they are all being kind. I am sure your child will have lots of stories about them over the next coming weeks!
Christmas Production
Friday saw us complete out first ever movie shoot!! Not many photos were taken but all of our little people were absolute pros!
I can’t promise you perfect, polished performances…. But I can promise you lots of smiles and festive cheer!!!

Christmas Dinner in School
Christmas dinner day in school was a huge success. Children enjoyed eating their dinner with some of their teachers whilst pulling crackers and singing to Christmas songs.
Huge thank you to Ms Street, her kitchen team, the lunchtime staff and also all the additional staff who helped make it fun for the children.
Christmas Jumper Day in School
A huge thank you to all our children who wore a Christmas jumpr on Fridy and made a donation to The Miners Lamp food bank.
A huge thank you for all the donations on our first Festive Friday of 2021. Look at this huge haul which is staying local and going to Miners Lamp Cafe and Community Hub. Thank you to Toby’s Mam for being our delivery elf!

We all had a brilliant time on our annual trip to the pantomine. The children were so well behaved and it was lovely to be able to get out of school on a trip again. We already can't wait for Cinderella next year!
school photos
Children should all have stickers inside their Reading Record books which gives details on how you can view your child's recent school photos. Poppy and Rainbow classes will have the slip of paper in their bags. If your child is not in school today then they will be given the information when they are next in . Alternatively, if you would like the details then please email the school office.

Wednesday 15th December - Early Years Christmas Party - party clothes all day . Please let us know if your child does not normally attend on this day but would like to attend by emailing pweyfs@wiseacademies.co.uk
Wednesday 15th December - PTA Movie Night - This is for children from Poppy Nursery - Year 4. The movie being shown is called Klaus. The cost of this event is £5 and should be paid using the Gateway App. This will include snacks, a drink and a special Christmas gift for each child linked to the film’s storyline. The movie will be shown straight after school. Staff will accompany children to the hall and look forward to enjoying the film with them. The children will then be dismissed from their usual doors at 5:45pm. We would appreciate it if you could let us know that your child(ren) will be attending, no later than Monday 11th December 2021, so that the PTA team and school staff can adequately prepare. You can do this by booking and paying on the app.
Thursday 16th December - Year 1-4 Christmas Party - party clothes all day - party lunch can be ordered via the app using the normal booking system and booking under 'School Dinners' (Year 3 & 4) up to Friday 10th December
Friday 17th December - Christmas Jumper Day… just because it’s Christmas! Last day of term!!!!
reception admissions
The Northumberland County council school admisssions portal will close on 15th January 2022 for all Reception applications. This is for all children who currently attend our nursery who are joining our Reception class in September 2022. Applications to be made via the portal here.
Saying goodbye......
Unfortuntely we will be saying good bye to Ms Thompson at the end of term. Ms Thompson has had a few roles within school but her most recent is lunchtime assistant and helping out in Nursery. I am sure you will all join us in wishing her good luck!
Free school meals
Dont forget, its never too late to apply for Free School Meals for your child. This can be done via Northumberland County Council's website here.
