Welcome
If you want to refer back to a previous newsletter, click on 'Spring 2021' above (if on a laptop/PC) , or the three lines top left if on a mobile device, then pick the week you want.
Following a parent suggestion, we've added some links at the bottom to take you to key pages of the website. There is also a link to this newsletter from the website if you ever need it.
Next Monday we will be having a special focus on Science, with virtual visits to classes from Professor Bubbleworks! The online lessons are jam packed with wow moments that we hope will inspire lots of budding little scientists!
At the end of the day the children will come home with some experiment idea for you to try to together - please share any photos or comments via our social media pages.
Huge thank you to the PTA who have funded this wonderful experience for our children!
The waterbottles have arrived and they look amazing; better than we ever thought! We are having the personalisation done as we speak, so hope to get these to everyone by the end of next week!
We raised just under £250 form the sale of these bottles towards the Year 4 Hoodies - thank you so, so much!
Thank you so much for all the donations and ticket sales linked to the Easter Egg Raffle.
We raised just over £450 from this one event! Thank you so much!
Year 4 will be back in the water on Thursday for their block of 10 lessons.
Parents of these children, please ensure you have read the email sent on Sunday regarding what your child will need.
HOMEWORK: We will be sending information out via email this week regarding our new homework strategy.
Please keep an eye on your emails.
After having to put our playground project on hold, we are now looking to start gathering resources to give our children more to explore and create with on break times.
We are looking for donations of 'loose parts' - such things include wheels, planks of wood (any length), crates, old chairs, blankets, tarpaulins, pots and pans, keyboards, telephones, rugs, cable reels, rope etc.
If you have any such items, or know of businesses who may be able to donate, please send them in in a carrier bag. If you have any of the larger items, please just leave them by the top car park gate (to the kitchen drive) and let us know.
Our exciting new Lego Clubs start this week. Both clubs are fully booked with waiting lists.
The Year 1&2 club will take place on a Tuesday afternoon until 4.15pm.
The Year 3&4 club will take place on a Thursday afternoon until 4.15pm.
Reminder that collection after the club will be from the Zone 2 Exit. (Children in little yard at the top - parents wait on the KS2 side of the yard.)
We can't wait to see what the children make!
New menus in place from today! These can be found on the website (link at the bottom or click this image).
This time we've added the dates for each week to make these more user friendly! (If we couldn't keep track, we're pretty sure you struggled too!)
A reminder that you should book and pay for lunches using the clubs option on School Gateway.
Having not been able to run many clubs this year so far, the timetable for this term is jam packed! I'm trying to get this onto a website friendly format for you to see this week!
A reminder that the new Reception Forest School Club starts next Monday. There are still places available, which can be booked via the Stomping Grounds website.
Did you know that whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday – you could be raising free donations for Prudhoe West PTA with Easyfundraising?
There are over 4,000 shops and sites on board ready to make a donation – including eBay, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com and M&S – and it won’t cost you a penny extra to help us raise funds.
All you need to do is:
1. Go to https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/prudhoewestpta/?utm_campaign=raise-more and join for free.
2. Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first to find the site you want and start shopping.
3. After you’ve checked out, the retailer will make a donation to Prudhoe West PTA at no extra cost to you whatsoever!
There are no catches or hidden charges and Prudhoe West PTA will be really grateful for your donations.
If shopping on Amazon, please also support the school by accessing amazon via smile.amazon.co.uk .
The first time you log on, search for 'Prudhoe West' (Prudhoe West First School Parent Teacher Association) and select us as your organisation to support, then shop via the smile.amazon.co.uk link rather than the main amazon site. Again there is no difference to you, but this will support the school. Please share these links via your socials and with friends and family.
