RECRUITMENT
We have interviewed today for two new teachers for Prudhoe West and will keep you posted about this.
We will be interviewing after half term for a new Office Apprentice.
We are currently advertising for a Lunchtime Supervisor (maternity cover), Kitchen Assistant (part time), and 2 Teaching Assistants for EYFS.

STAFFING
It is at this time of year that we often have a number of staffing updates to tell you... so here goes:
Mrs Nicholson (Karen), who currently works in Rainbow Room, will be leaving Prudhoe to start a new life in another town at the end of June. She has worked a Prudhoe West for a long time and we will miss her very much.
Mrs Collins, who works across all classes, will be leaving at the end of term to enjoy a more chilled pace of life and time with family. Again, she has worked here for a very long time, as well as been a parent and grandparent to many Prudhoe West pupils.
Miss Ward has made the decision to leave at the end of term to pursue other opportunities. Miss Ward was with us from her training year, and again will be missed.
Goodbye Mrs Wardle
Sending a huge THANK YOU to Mrs Wardle, who is retiring from our kitchen today after many many years! We will miss you very much. Keep in touch.
MIDWEEK TREAT !
Thank you for your support this term with the Midweek Treat... as predicted - the children have asked if this can continue! How can I say no?!
For the rest of the term the treat will be either ice lollies or ice pops - with money raised going towards equipments for out Outdoor Areas for playtime and lunchtime.
Please remember to pay your 50p per child by midnight each Tuesday for your child to be included that week (or pay in advance for the full 6 weeks).
At the end of the day each Wednesday, those who have signed up will receive their "midweek treat" to have on the way home!
The Year 4 Leavers event!
Last week we sent information to Year 4 parents about their end of Prudhoe West Event, which included a party, sleepover in school and trip to Broomley Grange. A number of parents have not completed the form, and this is making it very difficult for us to plan it.

The great big litter pick
With Summer almost here and the news that hopefully, we will be able to enjoy more of the outdoors with our friends and family this year, it is important that we get our Great Outdoors back into shape for us all to enjoy this Summer.
With this in mind, Prudhoe West will be joining many others in pledging time to commit to the Great Big School Clean Up taking place from today until Sunday 13th June 2021. Our team of ECO Warriors will pledge their time during their ECO Club nights at school, but we need the rest of our school to support this too.
We're asking every family to pledge to do some litter picking this half term holiday. Look on your child's Google Classroom for your Great Big School Clean Up pledge form that you can fill in and return.
Let’s get our parks, town and streets back to being litter free. Together we can make a difference.
SUMMER BOOK BLAST!
POSTPONED - After thinking this through, we have decided to wait until the next stage of restrictions eases before hosting this event. We did not feel in appropriate to encourage more people to the town centre when some restrictions are still in place.
This event is now planned to take place the weekend of 3rd/4th July 2021.
As you are aware - we love reading, so we'll be having a weekend focus on our love of books, including a Sponsored Reading Challenge, and hopefully, (if we can get local businesses to agree!), a Book Character Treasure Hunt around our amazing town!
Pencil it into your diary! Funds raised will go toward some new "Book Nooks" we have planned for our outdoor areas.
New menus are proving very popular! These can be found on the website (link at the bottom or click this image).
This time we've added the dates for each week to make these more user friendly! (If we couldn't keep track, we're pretty sure you struggled too!)
A reminder that you should book and pay for lunches using the clubs option on School Gateway.
PE Uniform reminder
A reminder that children should now be wearing school PE uniform on their PE days wherever possible - please put a request in to the Uniform Swapshop if you are having any difficulty sourcing these items. A reminder of our PE uniform is below:
On PE days:
Plain grey or black jogger bottoms, black shorts, or black leggings, or school logo PE tracksuit bottoms - Red round neck t-shirt - Red sweatshirt or cardigan (or school logo grey PE tracksuit top) - White, grey, or black socks.
Plain black trainers.
