Newborn Circumcisions after hospital discharge
If you have a family desiring a circumcision post-discharge there are two options:
(1) Perform the circumcision in your clinic: several DFMCH clinics have circumcision supplies (gomco, board, etc). Coordinate with your Clinic Manager to procure supplies for the appointment's scheduled day/time.
(2) Schedule the circumcision at UPH-Meriter: If you are credentialed to perform circumcisions at UPH-Meriter, you can schedule a future procedure for a patient that has been discharged.
Call the Postpartum Charge Nurse and identify a day/time that works for their staffing
Call UPH-Meriter Registration to schedule the procedure (they will need patient's name and DOB)
On the scheduled procedure date, the family will check in at patient registration then proceed to 5N/6N where you will perform the circumcision in the standard procedure room
Enter all orders and documentation under the Encounter created for that day/time
