Ordering a Pump
Placing as an “OUTSIDE ORDER” once a patient is 35 weeks (though I will sometimes do it earlier and let the patient to know that they may not let her pick it up until then). Order details:
RX: double electric breast pump
Diagnosis: postpartum care and exam of lactating mother (Z39.1)
You can either give it to the patient directly or to your RN/MA to fax to their DME supplier (based on their insurance).
For non-MA patients:
