FLOAT
FLOAT (Family Medicine Learning Obstetrics by Advanced Training) is a longitudinal high-risk OB elective offered to third year family medicine residents
Description of the experience:
You should anticipate that this elective will occur on 1-2 Thursday mornings during the months that you are on outpatient (ideally at least 9-10 mornings over the course of the year).
You will work with the UW OB attendings in the role of one of the OB residents (who are in their didactic sessions during that time) medically managing the UW OB patients (not MFM or other OB groups)
You may have some opportunities for surgical OB during these mornings if that aligns with your learning goals but should not expect to achieve competency through this experience alone.
It is important to remember that this elective is to supplement the independent learning that you are doing around medium-high risk obstetrics and as part of participation we will ask you to help curate the resources for review of medium-high risk obstetrics in a shared google drive with guidance from Jensi
