ALSO Provider Course

Friday, June 24, 2022 7AM-5:30PM

St. Mary’s Hospital, Conference Room 1

Participants attending an ALSO Course learn practical, standardized team-based approaches to managing emergency situations, such as postpartum hemorrhage, shoulder dystocia, breech delivery, cord prolapse and maternal resuscitation. Although labor and delivery room emergency care is the main focus of the program, the ALSO curriculum further addresses preventive care and practice concerns, such as medical complications of pregnancy, preterm labor, labor dystocia, trauma, and helping parents cope with a birth crisis.

ALSO Instructor Course

Thursday, January 26, 2023 8AM- Noon

Verona or Madison location TBD

Pre-requisite: Must have active ALSO Provider status on the date of the Instructor course. The AAFP does not allow ANY flexibility on this requirement.

If you are not sure of your ALSO Provider status please check with the AAFP.

The ALSO Instructor Course equips current ALSO Providers with the skills and knowledge they need to effectively teach ALSO courses. This course is divided into two activities: Online and Live. Completion of all required online materials must be achieved at least 24 hours prior to the start of the live course. The online course is designed to be completed at your own pace. It is highly recommended to allow at least 4 collective hours to successfully complete this online course. The in-person portion of the course will be practical sessions on how to lead ALSO Provider workstations and group testing.
