Eating disorder awareness
This video explains the different types of eating disorders and the symptoms/things to look out for in individuals.
Life Works, part of Priory, is based in Woking, Surrey, and is a highly respected private rehabilitation centre, leading the way in the treatment of addictions, eating disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. At Life Works, we are dedicated to helping to improve the mental wellbeing of individuals by using tried and tested methods, delivered by our clinically excellent team.
Addictive Eaters Anonymous (AEA) is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from addictive eating.
AEA has members who have suffered from anorexia, bulimia and binge eating. Many have been underweight, overweight or obese; others were people of average weight yet suffered with an obsession with food. Members may have used exercise and other substances to try and control their weight.
We believe that you have the right to have good eating disorder help from someone who cares and understands. We believe that therapists who work with eating disorders deserve the best professional training to empower their work, plus ongoing clinical support. This is our mission for people with anorexia, bulimia, binge and compulsive eating, body image issues, intractable weight struggles and the people who serve them.
This video gives some quick tips to coping with eating disorders and steps you can make to get support.
