Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
We hope you all had a wonderful Easter break and are feeling refreshed and ready for an exciting and busy summer term ahead. It was lovely to welcome back our energetic Year 2 pupils on Wednesday, full of stories and news from their holidays! We got straight back into the swing of things. In maths, we revisited our understanding of tens and ones, and sharpened our skills in comparing numbers. In English, we followed instructions to make paper aeroplanes — and, of course, had great fun testing them out!
In History, we began our new topic on Florence Nightingale. The children were amazed (and a little shocked!) to learn that there was once a time when there were no female doctors. In Geography, we kicked off our mapping topic by planning our own treasure maps and guiding our partners to hidden treasure. We’re so excited to explore these topics further over the coming weeks. The enthusiasm and curiosity of our Year 2 pupils is wonderful to see, and we look forward to supporting them as they continue to learn and grow this term.
