Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
This week in Year 4, we have been engaging in a variety of exciting learning activities! In English, we've been crafting "morerap" poems using different poetic features. Maths has been all about mastering the techniques of rounding and multiplying decimals, as well as adding and subtracting fractions.
Our Science exploration took a fizzy turn as we investigated how gases interact with fizzy drinks and debated whether cornflour behaves as a solid or a liquid. Geography lessons focused on studying the populations across various UK locations, while in History, we delved into the intricate Aztec calendar and hieroglyphics.
In PSHE, we've been discussing sensitive topics and learning about healthy ways to cope with grief. Our Classics class has concentrated on understanding verb endings. Meanwhile, in Music, our Pantastic songs continue to enthuse us.
PE has been a flurry of activity with handball sessions and an table tennis tournament. Art classes saw us painting and drawing flowers. In French, the emphasis was on pronunciation and verbs, enhancing our speaking skills and confidence.
Finally, our Computing sessions have been filled with enthusiasm as we explore animation, utilising the onion peel technique to bring our creations to life.
