Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
This week in Reception, we concluded our Space journey through the gas giants by learning all about Uranus and Neptune. The children were fascinated by their icy atmospheres and unique colours. We also had fun discussing Winter Sports and learning about activities like skiing, curling, ice skating, and snowboarding.
In Maths, we used our body parts to measure different objects around the classroom, comparing sizes and talking about length. We also revisited missing numbers, strengthening our counting and problem-solving skills.
The children engaged in calming activities such as yoga and mindfulness, helping us understand ways to relax and feel happy. We shared things that bring us joy and learned the importance of looking after our well-being.
In Phonics, we recapped our tricky words and digraphs, reinforcing our reading and writing skills. We also continued practising forming our numbers and letters.
It has been a fantastic and busy week full of learning, movement, and mindfulness. Well done, Reception! We look forward to another exciting week ahead.
